Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri was an Indian actress who achieved fame for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. In the late 80s the actress began her acting career. She became famous for her role as Tezaab, in which she starred with veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Then she appeared in the movie Dil in which she starred alongside Aamir Khan. As a young child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she started to dance. While still a teenager she tried her hand at acting, but the majority of those early films were unsuccessful. She eventually became one of the top actresses from Indian film. After her wedding, she took a career break before reentering the film industry. She was a key character in Gulaab Gang, a film that explores the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times to win Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of the awards. Padma Shri - the fourth highest civilian honor in India awarded to Dixit. She is known for her charitable work as well.
